About us
Shield Pest HQ is a web directory that brings together pest control services across the United States. You can find it at https://shieldpesthq.us/. The idea is simple: when you need a local professional, you should be able to compare basic information without spending hours jumping between outdated pages and unclear listings. We gather services in one place and present the details we can check, so you can decide at your own pace.
The directory is run by the Shield Pest HQ editorial team, a group of four people based in Austin, Texas. The team is responsible for choosing sources, reviewing every listing and answering messages sent by readers. We do not perform pest control work ourselves; we publish a directory that others can consult before contacting a professional. If you spot something that needs correcting, there is a contact form available on the site.
Our story
Shield Pest HQ began with a group of four friends in Austin, Texas: Daniel, Laura, Marcus and Sofia. We met in 2019 in a neighborhood volunteer group. What started as shared errands and coffees turned into a friendship built around solving everyday problems together, and that is how we still work today.
One afternoon, one of us needed to find a pest control service urgently. The problem was not choosing between options; the problem was finding clear information at all. What seemed like a quick search turned into an entire afternoon of phone calls, outdated pages and no straight answers.
That same day we decided no one should waste time like that when they have a problem at home. If you are dealing with pests, you need a practical answer, not a wild goose chase. The frustration was real and the fix seemed obvious enough: put the basic information in one place and keep it tidy.
So we started building Shield Pest HQ in 2022. We opened with a simple list of services we already knew, and little by little we added more cities and more details. Each addition taught us something about what people actually ask when they search for pest control near me.
Today we use AI to help organize data and draft some texts. That does not mean we let the machines drive. We choose the sources, review every listing and answer reader messages ourselves. Every three months we go through the directory by hand to confirm that what we publish is still useful, because a stale listing is worse than no listing.
If you have used a service or know one that should be in the directory, write to us through the contact form. Your input helps us keep the information accurate for everyone, and it is one of the reasons the directory is still here.
The team behind the directory
We are four friends and colleagues living in Austin, Texas. Each of us brings a specific perspective to the directory, from keeping the database clean to verifying the sources behind each listing.
- Daniel Moreno — data organization and database maintenance. He studied at the University of Texas at Austin and lives in East Austin.
- Laura Gutierrez — programming and site maintenance. She studied at Texas State University and lives in Hyde Park.
- Marcus Chen — design and usability. He studied at Rice University and lives in Mueller.
- Sofia Ramirez — source verification and reader support. She studied at the University of Houston and lives in South Congress.
We split the work so that nothing is left to chance. Daniel is usually deep in spreadsheets, checking that duplicate entries do not creep into the directory. Laura handles the programming side, keeping the site running and fixing what needs fixing. Marcus watches how people move through the pages, and Sofia reviews the sources and replies to the messages readers send through the contact form.
The four of us rotate tasks when volumes are high, especially in the weeks leading up to our periodic reviews. We also share responsibility for replies: Sofia coordinates reader support, but each of us answers questions that touch our own area of work. How we handle your name, email and personal information is described in our Privacy policy and our Cookie policy. You will find those documents alongside our legal notice ; navigation makes them easy to reach.
Our mission and values
Our mission is to help anyone facing a pest problem at home or in their business find a local pest control service in the United States and compare basic information before making a decision. That goal guides what we publish, how we organize each listing and what we choose not to include.
We do not install, service or quote pest control work, and we do not charge providers for a place in the directory. Our job is narrower and, in our view, more useful: keep a readable index of services so a search does not turn into an afternoon of phone calls. You can read more about how listings are built in How the directory works.
The values below are the standard we apply to each page, and readers are welcome to hold us to them.
- Clarity over volume. Each listing shows the same basic fields in the same order, so you can compare two services without hunting for a telephone number or a service area buried in a sidebar.
- Current information. Every three months we walk the directory by hand and check whether the published listings are still useful, adjusting or removing what no longer applies.
- Editorial responsibility. We use AI tools to help organize data and draft some texts, but we select the sources, review each listing and answer reader messages ourselves.
- Openness about limits. We publish basic details from public and provider-supplied sources; that means we do not know every price, licence or staff qualification. You can confirm business details at the Shield Pest HQ listings and directly with the provider before you commit.
- Corrections welcomed. If something is wrong, outdated or missing, a message through our contact form helps us fix it for the next reader, especially when that message comes from someone who has actually hired the service.
What you will find at Shield Pest HQ
Shield Pest HQ is a web directory, that is, an index of pest control services and not a pest control company. We bring together listings for services operating across the United States on a single site, so the first part of a search costs you a page or a filter instead of a parent tab hunt.
Listings are organized on three axes, and any of them can be your starting point: by location, by province or state and by category or type of service. If you already know what you need, categories filter the candidates; if you only know where you live, start from the geographic section.
Each listing is not identical because the services can consent to publish detailed information; some simply don't, a publicly available booking message must be backed up oservirá provisionalmente. Because information clearly varied.
Each ficha pools the details below in a common reading order so labels do not change from one service to the next:
- Identity of the service: trade name, brief description and type of pest control work offered.
- Geographic scope: provinces, state-level locations included within coverage, and related fields.
- Standing: whether the business operates physically in a shop or online only.
- A check price: any profile evidence we find on their website by cross-check (cross-distinctness within the record).
- Index fields needed not to mention which sectors certify availability, license validity or direct service.
Who this directory is for
The directory is written for people with no special knowledge of pest control, whose problem arose suddenly and for whom that reason probably has further options — the case with the natural nest will be welcomed by readers who request contact.
The directory joins readers legally facing several repeated fronts:
How we produce our content
Every listing and article on Shield Pest HQ goes through a simple process before it appears on the site. We start by researching the service, checking official sources and reference material, and writing the text in plain language. Then another team member reviews it for accuracy before we publish.
We update the directory regularly. If we find something outdated, we correct it or remove it. We do not publish a listing until we have checked the basic details ourselves.
If you are a business owner and want to correct or remove your listing, write to us at contact@shieldpesthq.us with the details. We will review your request and respond as quickly as we can. We also welcome suggestions for new services that should be included.
Transparency and independence
The content on Shield Pest HQ is independent. We do not accept payment to change a listing, and no third party can influence what we publish. Our editorial team decides which services to include and how to describe them.
If we ever publish sponsored content or a collaboration, we will label it clearly so you know it is paid. We do not use advertising to alter the information we provide. Our goal is to give you a clear picture of pest control services so you can make your own choice.
